Obituary for John Hazey Price
John Hazey Price, 84, of Greenbrier, passed away on Monday June 21, 2021, at Stoneridge Health Care in Ridgetop.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday June 28th at 3:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Marvin Crouch officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Brad Briley, Anthony Garrison, Jon Allen Moore, Chase Hodges, Aaron Price, and Joel Lawson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Price was born January 31, 1937, in Clay County to the late Benton and Lucy Crawford Price. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Price was a retired machine operator with MacMillan Bloedel and was a member of the Steelworkers Union Local 4802. He attended Hillcrest Church of Christ. Mr. Price loved music, especially playing his guitar. He enjoyed family gatherings and spending time in music and fellowship with each other. One of his favorite pastimes was going to Rivergate Mall to “people watch”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by the love of his life, his wife, Emma Josephine McCreary Price, by his daughter: Donna Jo Hodges, and by his brothers: Hosey, Hobert, Hovey, and Bill Price. 
Mr. Price is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Treva and Wade Garrison of Cedar Hill, by his sons and daughter-in-law: Wayne and Holly Price of Greenbrier, Greg Hodges of Greenbrier, and by his 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

Joyce Jean Hummel, age 88, of Hermitage, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at Bethany Health and Rehab Center in Nashville. She was an avid cook and baker, and loved to shop and travel, and enjoyed NASCAR. Jean was a devout Richard Petty and Tom Jones fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Don Nelson Hummel; and a daughter, Jacqueline Hummel.
Mrs. Hummel is survived by a daughter, Melissa (John) Griffith; grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah) Griffith and Daniel (Taylor) Griffith; great grandchildren, Karena, Lynnette and Pearl Griffith; and a brother, Gary (Joyce) Hicks.

Jack “Scott” Harrison, age 66 of Chapmansboro, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at his residence.
Scott was born on June 26, 1955 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Hugh & Peggy Martin Harrison. He retired from New Core Steel Industry.
Survivors include his sons, Will (Emily) Harrison and Barrett (Crystal) Pugh; brothers, Hugh (Melinda) Harrison and Martin (Vicki) Harrison; sister, Celia Mansur; and three grandchildren, Evelyn Harrison, Sadie Pugh and Abbie Pugh.
Scott’s remains will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.

Gary Lynn Moody, age 73, of Hendersonville, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 at his home.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Lynn Hargis Moody; parents, Waldo and Nellie Moody; and a brother, Darryl Moody.
Mr. Moody is survived by his son, Ben Moody; daughters, Hillary (Trey) Hightower, Jennifer Magan (David) Hines, and Ashton (Jason) Painter; grandchildren, Nash, Patrick and Graham Hightower, James Moody, Thomas Hines, and Isaac and Lily Painter; and sisters, Joyce Weaver and Sue Gibson.

Age 41, of White House passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 at her home. She was born October 5, 1979 in Nashville, TN to William Robert & Marie Owens Weakley. She worked as a waitress, customer service representative and as a dance instructor over the years. But in her more recent years, she worked as a homemaker. She enjoyed football, non-stop shopping, buying name brand purses, especially Michael Kors. Jennie loved to travel. Her happy place was the beach. She loved spending time with her family and friends most of all, and was one of the most generous people in the world. She had been attending White House First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her father, William Robert Weakley. She is survived by her loving husband of 14-1/2 years, James D. Johnson, White House, TN; sons, James Dale (Ashley) Johnson, Pleasant View, TN, William Dustin Johnson, Nashville, TN, Matthew Dale Johnson and Jonathan Hicks, both of White House, TN; daughter, Stephanie Moyer, Brentwood, TN; mother, Marie Weakley, Nashville, TN’ brothers, Jim (Laura) Weakley, NJ and Barry (Stephanie) Weakley, Atlanta, GA; sisters, Kim (Sam) Miller, Knoxville, TN and Valerie (Robert) Cullen, Mount Juliet, TN; 3 grandchildren, Grace Victoria Johnson, Elijah Michael Davis and Cayden Johnson.

Brent Hamilton West, age 47, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Monday, June 28, 2021 at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father Anthony Lopez officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery with his brother Brian West, cousin Keith McClard, cousin Patrick Ernie Axley, uncle Dennis Asley, friend Trey Thompson and neighbor Edgar Mendez.
The family will receive friends 4pm to 7pm, Sunday, June 27th at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Springfield and on Monday, June 28th 12pm to 1pm at the funeral home.
Brent was born in Pensacola, FL on October 27, 1973 to Colleen Axley West. He worked as a Chef in the Restaurant Industry.
He is survived by his mother, Colleen West of Hendersonville, TN; brother, Brian West of Houston, Texas.

Obituary for Virginia Hunt
Virginia Evelyn Hunt, age 79 of Franklin, Tennessee, formerly of Ashland City, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Waters of Springfield.
Graveside services were conducted at EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View at 11:00AM on Friday, June 25th, with Bro. Garvin Claiborne officiating. Burial followed with Matt Pope, William Pope, Sterling Hunt, Wesley Head, Troy Head, Andy Daniel, Jackson Daniel, Mitch Kizer, and David Finch serving as pallbearers.
There was no public visitation at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.
Mrs. Hunt was born on October 31, 1941 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Lovell & Reba Murphy Stone. She was in the banking system for over 45 years. She loved watching her Atlanta Braves and was of the Church of Christ faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Frances Stone.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Jerry Hunt; brother, Thomas (Karen) Stone; sister, Linda (Donnie) Nicholson; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Age 76 of White House went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 21, 2021 at his home. He was born October 7, 1944 in Athens, GA to James Oscar Applewhite, II and Miriam Beckwith Applewhite. He worked as a civil engineer for TVA until his retirement. Mr. Applewhite proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lynda Applewhite, White House, TN; son, Kevin (Sarah) Applewhite, Belmont, Massachusetts; daughter, Kelly (Tim) Amyx, White House, TN; brother, Gary (Janice) Applewhite, Salisbury, NC; sister, Ann (John) Clifford, Newport News, VA; 2 grandchildren, Ryan Applewhite and Jason Applewhite.

Donnie McKellon Reid, Jr., age 71, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at his home.
Mr. Reid’s remains were cremated and no services are planned at this time.
Mr. Reid was born January 4, 1950 to the late Donnie M. and Josephine James Reid, Sr. He worked as an electrician. He loved gardening, canning, fishing and camping.
In addition to his parents Mr. Reid is preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Reid and Jeff Reid.
Mr. Reid is survived by his son, Donnie Reid, III of Springfield; daughter, Holly Reid of Springfield; brother, Joe (Yolanda) Reid of White House; sisters, Donna (Ray) Lamberth and Diane (Phillip) Kelly, both of White House; grandchildren, Krystyn Houston and Tanner Reid Edwards; and great-grandchild, Beckett Houston.

She had worked as a manager for Frost Arnett. She enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything else.

Obituary for James Robert Mayfield
James Robert Mayfield, known to most as Jimmy or Jim Bob, passed away on Saturday June 19, 2021, at Hendersonville Medical Center.
At his request, his remains were cremated, and the family will have a Celebration of Life service at a future date.
Jimmy was born October 21, 1959, in Phoenix, AZ to the late James and Opal Lambert Mayfield. He retired from Electrolux in Springfield, and he also worked as a sales associate at Springfield Wal Mart. Jimmy was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed pyrography and spending time with his family. He was always a hard worker and wanted to make sure that the ones he loved were taken care of. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Maryanne Mayfield Heatherly.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 40 years: Cathy Gray Mayfield of Springfield, by his son: Thomas Jordan Mayfield of Springfield, by his brother: David Mayfield of El Paso, TX, by his sister: Debbie Bronson of Washington State, and by his mother-in-law: Edna Gray of Springfield.

Frederick Thomas Fischer, age 93, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021. He was born on March 15, 1928 to Arline and Michael Fischer in Carmel, NY.
Fred is survived by his children, Michael L. Fischer and Cathrine and Roger Schwartz; his granddaughter, Malorie Schwartz; his brother, Charles A. Fischer; and his nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Robertson County Funeral Home.
Mr. Dillehay was born July 4, 1939, in Adairville, KY. He was a retired machine operator with General Motors and was a member of the UAW Local 653. Mr. Dillehay was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He loved sports, especially football and basketball. Mr. Dillehay was a jack of all trades and could fix anything that he wanted to. He enjoyed doing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work. He was preceded in death by his mother: Anna Elizabeth Dillehay Engler, by his daughter-in-law: Aleta Dillehay, and by his brother: Paul Martin.
Mr. Dillehay is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rebecca “Peggy” Garrison Dillehay of Adairville, KY, by his son: Brian Dillehay of Bradenton, FL, by his daughter and son-in-law: Leigh Ann and Ricardo E. Evelyn Ratchford Frye, 93, of Greenbrier, passed from this life on Monday June 14, 2021 at her home.

Interment followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Kenny Frye, Jesse Frye, Marc Frye, Josh Mulholland, Daniel Baker, and Bryant Webster serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Frye was born April 30, 1928 in Louisville, KY to the late Jesse and Lillie Mae Hollie Ratchford. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Greenbrier. Mrs. Frye loved crafting, playing her harmonica, and spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren. She was a woman that loved the Lord, and she believed that you should always be doing something and never sit around with idol hands. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Paul Frye, by her sons: Jesse Louis, Clarence Eugene, and Kenneth Norman Frye, by her daughter: Virginia Mae Webster-Phelps, by her brothers: Jesse, Arthur, and Paul, and by her sister: Ruth.
Mrs. Frye is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: David and Nancy Frye of Greenbrier, Eddie Frye of Washington, DC, by her daughter: Becky Frye Baker Brear of California, by her brother: Louis Ratchford of Kentucky, by her sister: Lula Wiseman of Oak Ridge, by 11 grandchildren, and by many great and great great grandchildren.

“Seahorse” Anthony Eugene Seay, Sr. “Tony” passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at his home. He was born April 7, 1944 in Erin, TN to James & Edna Earline Pulley Seay. He worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight until his retirement. He enjoyed watching boxing and operating excavation equipment of all kinds.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters, Shirley Butler, Patsy Locke, Betty Seay and Penny Peacher; 2 brothers, James Robert Seay and Lee Seay; brother-in-law, Charles Barton. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Seay; son, Tony Seay, both of Cross Plains, TN; brothers, Allen (Peggy) Seay and Joe (Gail) Seay both of Nashville, TN; sisters, Mary Ruth (Ricky) Baxter and Dabbie Barton, both of Nashville, TN; 2 grandchildren, Logan Seay and Valerie Seay.

Cassandra Jean Shannon was born on October 14, 1958, in Springfield, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Mary Helen Stone Doss and Less Doss of Springfield, Tennessee. Cassandra departed this earthly life on Friday, June 11, 2021.
She attended the public schools in Robertson County, Springfield High School, Class of 1977.
Cassandra retired in December 2020 after twenty years with the Robertson County School System. Cassandra had a love and passion for childcare. She spent a lifetime working with child care. She loved her family.

Obituary for Tippi Lynne Maddox
Tippi Lynne Maddox, age 47, of Hendersonville, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville. Tippi was born in East Tennessee and raised in Morristown until the family moved to Hendersonville in 1985.
She was named after her maternal grandfather, who had been dubbed with the nickname of Tippy. She was a golden girl who was a bit of an outsider to some, but that made her more caring when reaching out to others.
A graduate of Hendersonville HS, she had many jobs around the city, but her favorite vocation by far was childcare. She worked with her mother, and at various daycare and teaching centers. She was fluent in sign language as well. There was one child who especially stole her heart, and his name is Jeremy.
Tippi enjoyed dining out, playing games, getting a shiny new manicure and making crafts. She adored her little dog Lexi. She had many friends, but so many more on social media; and as a survivor of Ovarian Cancer, her Teal Sisters meant a great deal to her. Though she had other health issues, she never let it get her down, and was always quick to laugh and joke. She was a loving daughter, sister, auntie and wife. She will be deeply missed.
Tippi was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Drucilla Maddox.
She is survived by husband, Alan Whitehead; brother, Tad Maddox; niece, Alexa Springsteen; nephew, Bradley Maddox; and sisters-in-law, Joanne Springsteen and Samantha Maddox.
The family received friends from 2:00pm until 7:00pm Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, Hendersonville. A Celebration of Life Service was conducted at 1:00pm Thursday, June 24, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Spano officiating. Graveside services were conducted at 1:00pm Friday, June 25, 2021 in the McCullough-Tieke Cemetery in Bulls Gap, TN.

Arrangements for Dorickus Bradley
Dorickus DeShawn Bradley was born August 10, 1989 to Gladys Gardner Bradley and Michael A. Bradley in Springfield, Tennessee. He gained his forever home on God’s celestial shores on June 10, 2021.
Dorickus was educated in the Robertson County School System. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age at South Haven Baptist Church, under the pastorship of Frankie Gagliano.
He is preceded in death by both mother and father, Gladys Gardner Bradley and Michael A. Bradley; grand – father, James Gardner; grandmothers, Elizabeth Gardner and Annie Mae Ross; and aunts and uncles.
Dorickus leaves to cherish his memories: one sister, Shameca (Brea) Gardner; two brothers, Mario (Tiffany) Gardner and DeMarcus Bradley; beloved aunts and uncles, and a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Family visitation was Saturday, June 18, with memorial service to follow at W. D. Crowder Funeral Home.

Thomas “Tommy” Lynn Webb, age 67 of Gainesville, Texas, formerly of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Nocona General Hospital in Nocona, Texas.
His remains were cremated and there are no services scheduled.
Tommy was born on June 23, 1953 in Ashland City, TN to the late Jack & Elise Nicholson Webb.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Diane Traughber.
Survivors include his sisters, Jackie (Ronnie) Watts, Glenda Winters, Karen (Kenny) Harrington, Lori Thrower; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Obituary for Bill Smith
William Frank “Bill” Smith, age 70, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at his home.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 18, 2021 at 10am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Barry Thornberry and Brother Joe Rushing officiating. Burial followed in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Scott Barnes, William Bush, Jim Gray, David Gunn, David Hazelwood and Rodney Toothman serving as pallbearers.
Visitation was held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 4-7pm and again on Friday from 9am until the hour of service at 10am.
Mr. Smith was born January 27, 1951 in Springfield to the late Frank Sory and Lula Mae Goldsmith Smith. He worked in Communications and was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. He loved his family very much and bargain hunting to help others.
In addition to his parents Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Smith. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ford Smith; son, Will Smith of Springfield; daughter, Brittney Smith of Ashland City; and sister, Elizabeth Barnes of Lafayette, TN.

Obituary for Michael Joseph Padgett
“Mickey” age 63 of White House passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at St. Thomas Midtown. He was born January 15, 1958 in Hardin County, KY to Michael Daniel & Mary Lou Nall Padgett. He worked as a truck driver for USF Holland before his retirement and was a member of Local #480 Teamsters Union. He was very proud to have received his second jacket for two million miles of driving. He was an avid golfer, loved traveling, enjoyed riding his Harley and tinkering around in his garage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Donna Houk & Cathy Padgett; brother, Danny Padgett. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Padgett, White House, TN; son, Ahren (Katie) Padgett, Louisville, KY; sister, Karen Webster, Richmond, KY; 3 grandchildren, Cody Hoover, Courtney Hoover and David Simms.
Funeral service was held Monday, June 21, 2021 at 2pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House. Visitation was Monday, June 21, 2021 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Obituary for Tommy Long
Tommy Ray Long, age 73, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Monday, June 14, 2021 at Ahava Healthcare of Clarksville.
Graveside services were conducted at 3 o’clock pm, Saturday, June 19th in the Pleasant View United Methodist Church Cemetery with family officiating. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
There was no public visitation prior to the graveside service.
Tommy was born on November 25, 1947 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Jimmy and Frances Long. He was a retired construction superintendent and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War as a Military Police.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving companion- his beloved Pomeranian, “AJ’.
Survivors include his daughters, Christy (Chas) Adkisson of Pleasant View, Michelle Long of Chapmansboro; brothers, Jerry Long, Larry (Cecilia) Long; granddaughter, Kayla Williams (fiancé Bradley Johnson); step-granddaughter, Cierra Adkisson; six great-grandchildren, Rylee, Levi, Brownie, Madalyn, Grant, and Emmett; two nephews, Jeremy (April) Long, James Long; great-niece and nephews, Christian, Caleb, Miracle, and Max; and Christy’s mother, Jenny Ham.
