Is Amazon Prime Day the new Black Friday? Your guide to the don’t-miss sales

As soon as Amazon announced that Prime Day 2021 would be held June 21-22, other big retailers launched their own competing sales during the same time frame.

Walmart’s “Deals for Days” are June 20-23.

Bed Bath & Beyond’s “Beyond Big Savings Event” and buybuy Baby “Big Baby Savings Event” are June 20-22.

Wayfair’s June clearance sale is June 20-23.

Overstock kicked off its Fourth of July Blowout sale on June 15. It continues through July 5.

Target’s “Deal Days” are June 20-22.

This may be the time to do your Christmas shopping.

These sales are usually a good time to look for deals on TVs, electronics, toys, bedding and household goods as well as small appliances such as InstaPots, traditional and robot vacuums.

Here is what you need to know about each sale:

AMAZON PRIME DAY

Amazon Prime Day is June 21-22 and is actually two days, 48 hours, of deals. Last year Prime Day was postponed to October so it has only been eight months between events.

You must be a Prime member to get the sale prices. Prime costs $119 a year or $12.99 a month. The membership includes perks such as free shipping on all orders. Some early deals have already launched including those on Amazon devices such as Echo.

Through Sunday, June 20, you can earn a $10 credit to spend on Prime Day by making a purchase of at least $10 from a small business that sells on Amazon.

You can spend that $10 and give your support to Black-owned small businesses, women-owned, military family-owned and regional.

Specific retailers also will have Prime Day deals on Amazon including Britax, a maker of child car seats, strollers and travel systems. Deals to look for here are the Grow With You ClickTight Harness car seat and Boulevard ClickTight Convertible car seat, both of which will be 30% off.

SodaStream will offer savings of up to 45% off its most popular sparkling water makers including the Fizzi Bundle that includes two Includes 60L CO2 cylinders, three 1L BPA-free, reusable carbonating bottles and two 40mL bubly drops for $92.99. Original price is $149.95. The Fizzi Kit, which Includes a Fizzi sparkling water maker, 60L CO2 cylinder, and a 1L BPA-free reusable carbonating bottle will be $49.99. Original price is $89.99.

SimpliSafe is offering 40% off of its systems on Prime Day. The 9-piece system is regularly $299.99. Prime Day price will be $180. The 5-piece system is regularly $177.71 and will be on sale for $107.

BED BATH AND BEYOND

Bed Bath & Beyond said its sale will include same-day delivery in eligible ZIP codes for orders of $39 or more and thousands of deals in-store and online.

Buybuy Baby will hold a “Big Baby Savings Event” on the same days – June 20-22.

Whether shopping online or in-store, customers will get $50 in MyFunds for spending $200 and $100 for spending $400 to go toward future purchases.

WAYFAIR

During Wayfair’s June clearance sale, expect to find significant savings – up to 60% off – on sheets and comforters, furniture, outdoor seating sets and mattresses along with garden and patio decor. Shipping is free on orders over $35.

TARGET

Target’s “Deal Days” is an online-only sale event June 20-22. For the first time, Target’s sale will include food and beverages.
