Shirley Bodyweight Obituary (1933 – 2021) – Loup Metropolis, NE

Shirley I. Fat, 88, of Loup Town, Neb. died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021 at the Central Nebraska Veterans House in Kearney.

Shirley was born March 26, 1933 at Ansley, the daughter of Clarence W. and Rose Irene (Burnett) Rowedder.

She attended university in Ansley, graduating with normal teaching from Mason Metropolis Large College in 1950. She then taught region university at Moody Valley, Sunny Slope, Cumro and South Satisfied Hollow in Custer County.

She married Samuel Jacob Plumb in Aug. 1954. He died Jan. 3, 1955 of a war-relevant personal injury. She then taught at Snake Operate and Lillian Districts close to Damaged Bow and also taught at Tufford District in close proximity to Ansley.

All through these several years, she attended Kearney Condition Academics Higher education, graduating with her bachelor’s diploma in Elementary Education in the Spring of 1963.

She was united in relationship to Donald D. Excess weight on Aug. 20, 1963 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island. The few farmed north of Loup Town for numerous a long time.

She taught elementary faculty at St. Josaphat’s Catholic School in Loup City from 1964 as a result of 1969. She then taught elementary college at Loup Metropolis Public Universities from 1969 until eventually her retirement in 1997.

In 1994, she obtained the Educators Award introduced by the Loup City Chamber of Commerce. She was the initially elementary teacher to acquire this honor.

In her retirement, she was a substitute teacher, tutor and she and Don, owned Middle Loup Insurance policy Company, specializing in crop insurance policy.

She was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup Town, for a lot of decades.

Shirley loved embroidery, crocheting, bowling and chip carving.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-legislation, Cheryl and Frank Boardman of Olathe, Kan. and Connie Fat of Kearney move-daughters Donna Harrison and Debra Walter, equally of Lincoln move-son and daughter-in-law John and Joyce Bodyweight of Kansas City, Mo. two granddaughters Rachel and Abigail Boardman of Olathe, Kan. phase-grandchildren Jeff Otto of Bronx, N.Y., Greg Otto of Lincoln, Kara Morris of Siloam Springs, Ark., Neil Walter of Louisville, Ryan Body weight of Denver, Colo. and Evan Weight of Parkville, Mo. 10 wonderful-grandchildren and one terrific-good-granddaughter siblings and spouses Glen Rowedder of West Chicago, Unwell., Letha Woodward of Dannebrog, Emma and Gerald Sweley of Grand Island, Kenneth and Diane Rowedder of Anchorage, Alaska, Judith Bourland of Grand Island and Daniel and Carol Rowedder of Lexington and lots of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in loss of life by her mother and father spouse Jacob Plumb husband Donald Weight on Nov. 3, 2020 and brothers Arthur Rowedder of Ansley and Ronald Rowedder of Kearney.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 1 at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup Metropolis. The Rev. Richard L. Piontkowski will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City.

Visitation will start at 9 a.m., with Rosary at 9:30 a.m.at the church ahead of the Mass.
